| Mary Elva Miles, 77, of Belleville, mother of Elmer Dix, Cahokia, died last Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville, where she had been a patient since February 17. She had been falling in health for two years. A daughter of Valentine and Laura Hagen, nee Pares, she was born at Perryville, Missouri, on May 12, 1984. she was married twice and widowed. her first husband was William L. Dix, who died in 1935, and her second husband was James H. Miles, who died in 1967. Also surviving is another son, Harold Dix, Swansea; a daughter, Mrs Authur Beil, Belleville; a stepson, Glenn L. Miles, Freeburg, seven grandchildren and 17 step grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a stepson, a stepdaughter, a brother and a sister. The funeral was held Friday at Belleville,ILL. |
