Cameron SalisburyOil on canvas, 10" x 8", Completed June 23rd, 1998.Chester Salisbury, Cameron father's commissioned ten paintings of his son by different artists. Tom being one of Chester's primary artist completed this painting for the show. Tom took advantage of the situation to comment on the state of kids in today's schools. Although Tom did not show the school in the background the inference is there anyway. Cameron plays a lot with the shoot-then-up video games and even has his own 22 rifle. Cameron does not really think there is any difference between video games and shooting at a man size target in the field with a 22. Tom painted the composition in his typical manner of light and dark. He took the various things from Chester's yard to populate the foreground. In the background is the view from their backyard. |
