Watching the Train With Friends
11" x 8.5, Watercolor on paper, Winter
1999
Tom's Comment:
The background seems better than the last. The light in the foreground helps
center the action. The upper horizon is fantastic. But the action needs to be
enhanced, the figures interacting.
"Fighting For A Love"
11" x 8", May 27th, 1999
The black night kidnaps her for himself but her white night is going to save her. Watercolor background
digitized with inserted coloring book images. , 17k
Tom's comments:
This work is not really in sink with itself. The inserted images are not in
harmony with the watercolor background. The Knights should be up off the
bottom of the canvas and larger. The green should encroach more into the
canvas. The water should be a darker color.
Cow
I sold this cow painting away. My maid"s friend wanted a cow painting. I'm
not sure if she was just talking. I saw her this weekend and she took it and
my Mom paid for it. I should have told her the price before I painted it.
Live and learn.
Tom's Comments:
Congratulations on the round about sell. It is a lot of work to draw with your
head stick. I like that you are including your signature cartoons of yourself
and your friend in your coloring book art composites. I wish the colors could
be better, dirtier. Please include date, price, program you completed in.
Little Girl In Pond
Tom's Comments:
This is the greatest artwork of Patty's yet. I want to know the size and price
of this piece. It has a single central figure. An additional image of the swan
is toned down. The background is wonderful in its expression of the real
emotion of the artist.
Having a Nut
8" x 11", Watercolor on paper, April
9th, 1999
Tom's Comments:
Painted freehand without the use of coloring books or drawing programs.
Obviously taken from something, maybe even from life. The use of brown and
blue sets up a likable color pattern. The scraggly tree and the black plane in
the sky adds most of the angst in the painting which is the most important
part of the work. I imagine the squirrel is sitting on a brown log. I look for
more diversion in the way of light and dark color and drop the squirrel size to
let the background have its day.
Windsurfer with Lighthouse
Watercolor on paper, 11" x 8.5",
April 1999
Tom's Comments:
Now this watercolor shows Patty working in her mode. The scene has a wonderful
mixture of sensitivity and angst. A dark day but with lighthouse.
Red Flower
Watercolor with digital, 5" x 7",
May 10th, 1999
Tom's Comments:
This is an intriguing piece what with the red flower against a almost black
background. It shows a dark side to something. Not that Patty is a dark person
but it taps into what all humans experience, beauty with sadness.
Sweet Bunny
Watercolor on paper, 8.5" x 11", May
12th, 1999
It is a colorful painting. It makes think of a bunny in my yard.
Finished Monday 9th, 1999 paper size 11" x 8.5"
Tom's Comments:
This is a little lighter in its demeanor. The bunny is black and white. Not
what we would normally realize in a painted bunny because of the difficulty in
rendering the two colors clearly. The background is so elegant in its simple
but colorful way. One of the finest works in this series.
Waiting For My Rider
Paper size 11 by 8, Finished in June 28,
1999
I painted this because I love horses. They are beautiful.
Tom's Comments:
I most excellent painting. The use of yellow as an accent is perfect. The
horse has varied shades from black to white. A clear eye and blue sky. This
watercolor manner is your best manner. I hope you format all your art work
descriptions like this.
Pumpkin
Up To Something
11" x 8.5", May 27th, 1999
Maybe he has a mouse under his paw and he is just waiting for everybody to go
so he can eat it. Or he just had the last drop of cream .
Tom's comments:
A fine piece of artwork. The gray with the yellow is simple and effective. The
small touch of green in the eyes is perfect along with the pink of the ears.
I would like to see the comments formulated like above with corrected spelling.
Flowers Can Grow Anywhere
June, 19 1999, 11" x 8.5"
I Like this painting for the colors and it looks like somebody has put flowers
on the wall for sun
Tom's Comments
A very wonderful painting. Clean color and thoughtful mixing of color. Maybe
a little more shadow somewhere. Make a pleasing pattern of the lights and
darks.
The Rose
July 16,1999 12:30 pm, 11" x 8.5"
I Painted this painting of the rose because I love roses and the gold
background makes the rose pop out of the page.
Tom's Comments :
The painting is lacking in excitement. Only three things are playing the tune.
The color is good because the colors are muted and not particularity opposing.
Form creation by the color is severely missing. Each object has at least three
things: light, line and dark.
Bird
8.5" by 11", Finished August,
1st, 1999, 1:30 am
This painting is beautiful because the painting has so much life.
Tom's Comments:
This painting has not been attacked enough. The grass is well developed but
then the flower, bird and "is that a cat" are silid color. The piece does have
a pleasant color combination if I could only think of the right color to add
to make it perfect. Maybe just the attention to light, line and darkness would
make thins piece good.
Bright House
Tom's Comments:
The straight on home is a subliminal excitement. Bright windows are a rejoice.
But in the end you have only your mind's eye. But do not fear, keep a tight
trap and let the chips fall where they may.
Good Morning World
8" x 11", August 17, 1999
Woman Who Is Happy With Herself
I painted her because she is pretty not she is just like us. I like her face.
I painted the background in acrylic basics. The rust is watercolor. This is my
first try to paint a face and flower box. It was hard to paint because I had
never tried before.

Tom's Comments:
Now this is really some painting.
Strong and exciting. The red really moves you and the green helps
you enjoy yourself. The blue sky about is life and death an the brown
is us. I hope it is a large size and painted on good paper for this
is a real winner.
Tom's Comments:
This is a digital painting
that Patty took several years to complete. I find it a compelling
piece with a fine story.

Hay tom, I
have been working on my DynaVox with my computer so I haven't been painting
so much but I finish this one I really like this one it is cool.
Tom's Comments:
I really enjoy
this work also. It seems to be on very rough paper. Congratulations
on your new DynaVox.
Fish Bowl,
6/26/01
I am doing wonderful
with my DynaVox and my computer.
I did a new painting
the fish is different but that is make you look at it twice. In my thinking.
I hope that you like my painting.
Tom's Comments:
Your colors are
pleasant and subtle.

I
did a good job on this. The artist, who set up the Middletown

the lion painting and one other! I can't believe this!
